I hungered for our lost relationship.

A conversation was all I got.

There s no permenance in war

Grab what you can and go.

The guy you met yesterday

Has no arms today.

His friend joined him, lost both legs.

This is the hell of war.

And then when it's over

Your hell just begins.

Your mind is full of slaughter

And friends dying as you talked.

It is indeed very sad that war has always been a bane on this world; and it continues to be so. Love and peace to you, George.

Yes, war is a horror hopefully never seen nor touched, wish you had not seen it yourself, but you write of it with a beauty & elegance, even though it is a definitive horror...I hope you find peace, -e-

Having never faced that horror, I can only imagine. But, it helps explain what happened to a couple of my uncles. One who disappeared into alcoholism and obscurity and the other, an outward hero, but also so troubled, he left his family and disappeared completely until he was found 40 years later after he died in another life.

Sad reminder of a guy I was dating, went to Nam, came back as a few pieces..................closed casket.

Love ya!
