This is just poetry about life, not mine or any one in particular. It just happens.

There are those moments in life

That we contemplate over and over.

We seem to need a reason, gone

When we two were so much in love.

There was no tomorrow, only today,

That's how real we were to each other.

You in my arms, my lips against yours,

O how the fires burning, yearning, went.

Yet life can be cruel and not pan out

The way we expect our love to be.

It was in those yesterdays, long gone,

That I sit here and wonder why.

Yes, sometimes we think things could have been different when we view them from the rearview mirror.

The transience of life is a mysterious thing, especially when it comes to love, that it so intense and intimate, and then, as you say, it is "gone". Charming poem full of melancholy. John

My mom says ‘If you can’t say anything nice then don’t say anything’. Sorry mom but under the guise of poetic license I penned these beauties.
