Why has poetry lasted? Is it not in its substance? Who doesn't wonder After reading a poem? The sailfin has an ocean As does a poet who writes. There are massive ideas That swim in his head. Yet many a poem gives no clue As to the authors thoughts As he wrote the poem. You, the reader, supply that.
