Been through the school
Of hard knocks.
Lived it, and survived
Left with my head on my block.
How can one live in expectation,
Yet never once was it a reality.
Sure I've dodged bullets,
Who hasn't in war?
I have had scary moments,
When life hung in the balance.
But somehow survived,
And now can thank God, who was by my side.
