Left in a thoughtless wonder

Where thinking begins.

There is where a poem begins

That comes to me In evenings end.

I ponder  but a few moments,

Until my mind forms a poem.

Then a thought will develop

And words take shape to begin.

Alas with but a few words

A thought expresses a story.

I linger not with much thought

Before a poem  is born.

From ages past comes the present

And delivers a poem at my door.

A few simple words shapes this poem

Which you read as this poem ends.

Bravo, King George! A poem IS born!

Encore, Encore!
And I agree 100% with Connie's review... The LORD is gracious!

Haven't talked to you for ages.. :/ I hope you are well, and not being touched by this horrible flu! My prayers remain with you and your family daily.

Be well, and GOD bless you abundantly, Dear Friend!!!

Love & Hugs,
Rhonda

I like your explanation of how a poem is born in that dreamy, waiting state when God fills the emptiness of your thoughts with simple words. God bless you, George!

That is exactly how I write poetry. The words come to me, usually later in the evening when all is quiet. I write before I lose the momentum.

Thoughts surround your poems and give them life. But, what are poems, but thought put to paper.
