I can pillage, burn and destroy, At the whim of my mind. We are but savages controlled By the insights of our thinking. Who can question ancient thoughts, If they have outlasted time. Who is the judge, so proper, To declare the idiocey contained within. I for one, must step aside And not try to judge what happened. Time has a way of miscalculating The unknown minds of ancient men.

Those ancient thoughts are still a part of our makeup today, and history is chock full of miscalculations, right up to today.

"ancient thoughts" and "ancient men"! Interesting concept, George! Have we changed that much? Perhaps our weapons of choice have. This poem gets the wheels spinning!
