turning turning the ice streets so familiar
one sliding curve and you can see the mountains
surrounding this one street town
in a bar with her mother and father
just a drink and a hold of hand
everyone around i recognize
so long ago, but the faces, the faces
brighten in remembrance
the helicopters shining down
here in california
but it is just the sun
rays through the blinds
here on me while dreaming of colorado
and i took you there
and i let you drive
my big subaru on the icy main road
through the mountains
around by the gaslights
and you can see
what i used to see
when my heart lived there
in colorado
