gotta love them, but i sure love them more when vacation is over!

she's sitting out
on the back porch
riding high on
that horse again

looking down upon
our crude procrastinations,
dirty floors and
misappropriations

wondering if we
will ever see
the faults within
our youthful ways

you know i'm thankful
that you've come
so glad to have
the grandchildren near

but the time has come
to go, my dear
better, for everyone,
i hear

some need their space,
and i am one
that longs to miss you 
after you've gone!
