as i watch the reconstruction
the metal ball crashes into the old world
crumbling and devouring
making room for the view
and i'm trying to recall the way
that dream felt
it's the end of something old
and the beginning of something new

and she said that the year
would be one of reflection
but i see it's importance
as so much more

it is the breaking away of the old foundation
and the building of a great castle
a mighty fortress
that will never be destroyed
by boxer shorts or bloody gloves
