Bent
So I am a bit bent
My mind twists and it turns
It’s mopey and happy
Lost, found, then returns.
Not by choice nor by want
This identity haunts
Through tribulations
The trials and many I’ve sought.
House of glass you think
To just judge with a blink
‘Tho your eye that beholds
Gleams scary and cold.
Our choice you all say
As if one can just know
Pompous, ridiculous
Mass bigotry flows.
In churches and houses
The schools and the gym
Beliefs you are better
That we are living in sin.
I say I am the same
As you and as him
I am really no different
What I am is no whim.
I am a bit bent
There I said it again
I’m gay and I’m proud
In this message I send.
