Tricky spring month
With jangles and spurs
Spring in the bounce
Pounces and purrs
A holster of heather,
Tarweed and leather
State of orange poppies
Blooming forever.
Shell-shocked April
Fickle rain refused to stay
Clouds quietly disgruntled
While the sun hid and played.
