The angels had gathered to discuss the fate of this man Children begged for his soul but the law is the law of the land She placed the soul on the balance of life She cut away the dark edges Her face turned as pale as the knife Weight in heavy of the sins of man Angelic turned to grieving Cut more save the man From his soul to the heart known for so long The balance laid lonely in the words of his song The devil was playing in Georgia And off key just bit He saved a young girl From her final hit The angels gather in heaven trying to find a way Picked up his soul for his life they had to weigh One was playing a harp other a fiddle of gold No one could ask but all wanted his soul So worked long into the evening Found no answer there Not able to sew up the seams Not able to find a person to care Tossed to the winds of time in view of the world A small child gathers pieces to give it a whirl With love and attention and help from a few of her fiends They mend the torn heart and soul with love that does not end Placed not on the balance but brought before the mother of God With heart full of understanding she gave this soul her nod Whispers once again filled the great halls No one dared to question her thoughts or morals Children stop by the willow and listen to his tales Of love and of perfection on wings and pirate ship sails Neverland is the palace for dreams that never grow old Hear the voice of a man gives birth to his childhood soul
