A drunk

Old Walt and I set down to have  us a few

In stepped Daniel

Said that an’t good for you

As we danced to the music

The barmaid said I know you

You’re that damn poet

I grew up on you

So kiss the Greek goddess

Give her a whirl

Take what she gives you

Remember the oceans a pearl

Devil is in the laughter

Of never going to sleep

Love is in the lover

Whose soul will she keep

me I am in the bottle

Of another cup of Jim

Rainy days of metal

Here comes the boys once again

So out of the tavern we staggered

down on to the square

addressed all that would listen

No body had any stair

Cast you a performance

sing if you can

Dance in the eyes of a drunk

Pulled of to jail

by the man

Can you sing alto

Can toast the sky

Can you see past tomorrow

Damn if you can’t die

Lay down you sorrow

Take a view

From a bottle of love

You still see you

come in the quest of reason

Live in the past of friend

Dance in the honor of the union

Here comes that war once again

Bars all around me

head on a table of stone

Rock of ages

trying to show me the way back home

Me and my buddies stopped for a brew

played New York

but that was before it was new

so catch you a taxi

Dream bout your youth

catch yourself a hooker

before she catches you

So here is to the night bird

When never more will do

here is to the drunkard

May he never be you

So me and few of my buddies

spent the night getting soused

Though the entire world is a stage

some damn fool burnt down my house
