Home At Last

We are always on the way home, somesay to die others say to remember

Time stands in the will
Of a bottle
Marking
Still

Little grains of sand
Tip the empty
Friend

Called the morgue for a view
Slab was cold
It was you

Traveled a lonely road
You know son
You finally made
It home

Took out my heart
And left lay
Sad any day
Picture
On the wall

Momma
Hear
Him call

Desert storm
In mind
Rested in
Vietnam
For time

Sit on a park bench
Watch the days
Struggle with
Nights
Anyway

Well of tears
Call
Wonder when
After all

So you live for your kids
As the good Lord to give
Forgive their intercession
Cradle their love
In a special
Some one

I have planted the tree
Wrote the book
For my son to see
Heart ache
Well maybe some

Mind is wisdom let run
Time stands in the will
Of a bottle
Marking
Still
