Restless Write, so much truth in Poe at Christmas, season of love and chill of lonesome among many...

Eyes heavy seeking sleep

Blanket pulled up tight

Mind drifting into real

Body shivers in pain

Truth of living

Rips at heart alone

Faces in memories fade

Shadows dance in candlelight

Heroes it seems

Sadly in search of

Rest left for trouble day

Faded love reminds

In heaven push

Ceiling dances to lights coming and passing

Rest is for fools

Time comes and with pen in hand

Poe and write

Embers ghost fall

December trails

Fireplace to grail

Garland in evergreen bows

Linger a sad refrain

Heart and soul

Left for Lenore

A raven sign

A mind relenting

Faded hope

Guilt in faith

Crib makes

A place for

All past

Yet the pen will not be still

Faces in memories fade

Shadows dance in candlelight

Heroes it seems

Sadly in search of

Rest left for trouble day

Faded love reminds

As the fallen angels stop

A need to be heard

Trouble bends

Hope lends

A resting place

Above the door

Reminding all inside

Pride and guilt live

Just above the mistletoe

Candle flickers in response to need

A share of self to paper yellow

Edges of gold draw perfection

Soul as cold as the heart left alone

Treasures lay beneath a tree

Decorated in life

Eyes close to the earth

As sleep pulls the blanket

Oh time be merciful

Bottle on table alone

Candle flame gone

Ghosts just wait

Time was when

Life danced from this pen

Images dressed for the reader

Fall silent as the embers dead
