People think they know me.

But, they only believe what they

see.

They don't know how much it took

or how long for me  to get from point a

to point b.

Nobody's life runs in a straight

line. And less then perfect was

mine.

I know I have become someone

new, a completely different

person then once they knew.

And I think we're all a little

afraid of change. Yes, I believe

sometimes to ourselves we can

feel a little estranged.

Can we honestly tell someone

who we are?

Was there ever an explanation

for the scars which remain?

What's left over reminding us of

the pain we survived to endure?

Some diseases have no cure.

But, I'm different now.

I was once a helpless child

and had no choice but to

entrust my life to parents.

I barely knew myself or

what was awaiting for me.

Now I wish someone had

told  me then  that I was strong.

I wish they believed in me  enough

to let me know what ever I chose

for myself wasn't wrong.

It hurts to think people see

you more as problem then a

person. Why don't they ever

realize the way they dehumanize

you is why you're hurting?

Events can happen so fast

you're not given time to

think. Before you know it

a year has passed.

You better not regret.

You better not look back.

Some people can only judge

you now.

They don't know who you used

to be.

They can't understand your

struggles to raise yourself

to a better place and become

a different person while

healing from mistakes.

Some people think they see me

now but it isn't really true .

All they look for are reasons

to withhold their love and reject

me too.

But, I know love is not a game.

Yes, I know I am not the same.

Life has moved me on.

And this journey has me changed.

They don't want to see it for it

makes them feel uncomfortable

and afraid
