After the comment someone made about "Blind" I felt like I needed to clear this up. Blind is not about an ex love interests or a relationship that ended . What is it about is my father and how he treated me when I was growing up and how he always discounted me. His being a narcissist and his inability to accept and love me.It is also about peoples inability to see what is really there and instead will only see what they want to see. Sometimes they will hold on to faulty perceptions of someone else regardless of evidence to the contrary.

What a shame you could not

see me.

It's a tragedy you didn't

believe in me.

You couldn't spare the time

nor had the patience to let me

become. You didn't have the

wisdom to understand who I am

and what I would do wasn't up to

you. And now I am doing much

better without you. All because

you are blind.

I remember, you were the one

who through gems away

just because you did not like

how they gleamed in your eyes.

Was I shining too brightly for you?

Was the beautiful heart of mine too

strong for you to handle?

You can't blame it or me for

being blind. No matter how hard

I tried I just couldn't give you insight.

The strongest love in the world I could

offer wouldn't get you to see what is really

there and what is not.

I can't make you remember what you long

forgot.

It's the weakness of human vision.

Human beings only see what they believe

they will see and can't accept anything different.

You can present them with the truth on a platter

and they will deny it; they will reject it.

Their minds are closed and made up.

Our world is in such need of love.

Sadly though we have forgotten how to love

and make one another feel like not enough.

We tell each other how we fall short all the time,

never really realizing we are blind.

This poem is very personal. But I look at it from what it is saying about you. You are not over this other person that you claim you are doing better than. If you were you wouldn't be writing the poem validating that you still have some wish to be close to this "blind" person to your needs and desires.

Perhaps you never will be able to get back together again, as long as you have anger in your heart.

Ron
