Family is


not always of the flesh,


but inevitably of the heart.



Our crazy quilt,


patchwork family grows,


calico, paisley, tweed and silk


painted in flower garden hues.



Somehow, Life and Love


supply each new thread,


each new color,


and the pattern emerges.



In joy, in gratitude and in celebration


We welcome to our hearts


this love-made gift,


this miracle.
