Darkness is the prison, Guantanamo
By Dr Patrick A ODougherty
Prison darkness cloaks my mind in a dark tent.
People love the darkness. I do as well.
After the night
My Pride rises to meet the sunrise.
And the world is passing.
My life is passing with the favor of God I hope.
Youth fades with its problems.
Nature has God in its designs.
Persist through the night and you will obtain and achieve your goals.
Darkness begs persistence.
Nightmares and crisis cry forth
And bring the morning into my cell.
Intensify, intensify, intensify, the Light breaking
The darkness. Free the captives!
Patrick A ODougherty is a Capitol Hill detainee with
WAT, witness against torture, and Martin Sheen, producer.
