Kindred spirits?
I speak softly...
You will be angry if you hear.
As I unfold this package, though:
Seems certain to me:
All my ducks are in a very neat row.
But I will keep silent,
And say not a word,
For fear I turn a bad day into something worse.
I am here, just out of sight:
I may nibble, but I will never bite.
I'll breath in as you breath out;
Eventually, I hope to quell your doubts.
I may be flawed,
But certainly not broken;
I ACT on this,
My claim more than just spoken.
"What is your claim?" you ask politely,
"Why do you hold my hand so tightly?"
Here I pause and honestly confess,
Like a drowning man holds to his last life vest.
I'm an ordinary man, enraptured by your beauty,
And to your heart I search for a key.
In this search, I maintain my patience,
Even in the rain, I will set up my tent.
The actions I take I hope you observe,
And come to admire my persistent verve;
I am sincere as I reach for your hand,
Though I know my poetry is hopelessly bland.
Kindred spirits?
I've said what I can,
A;ll I can do now is hope you hear it.
