*to the tune of Hush Little Baby*

Dedicated to the survivors.

Hush now baby, don't say a word

Can I play with your mocking bird?

But when that mocking bird don't sing

This bad man's gonna rip your wing.

Just keep quiet and don't say a word

Silence is golden or haven't you heard?

Don't tell a soul what he's doing to you

It'll be allright once he's off of you.

Hush little darling, don't say a word

I know it hurts, and yes, it's absurd.

But this bad man's gonna have his way

and what I suggest to you is to pray.

Pray for life, for love, for aid

Help won't come, but your fine is paid.

Such a bad girl, ‘cause you looked so fine

This bad man's gonna blow your mind.

No more gems will ever come forth

Your mining days now have no worth.

Your mine-your womb, is now destroyed

Your dark comfort is, your life is void.

Rose, I could easily copy and paste my last review for this heart-wrenching write but I can’t. This piece is the most intense piece I have ever read on the subject. I am now truly ashamed of our species. I agree with Ed, I tried to sing it to try and ease the pain and it didn’t do anything except intensify the pain and anguish! NO CHILD should ever have to endure this! I am stunned!

A late, albeit better late than never, review, of a powerfully scary piece of poetic electricity...I even sang it & it did not make it any less scary and painful...Peace thru the Write, Ed & Rufuz

As one who has read much of your poetry down the years, this one I am very familiar with. Yet it still raises a tingle up the spine each time I read it ... especially when the tune is added to it.
Probably the most powerful and emotionally challenging write you have penned.
You can already see how much others have responded to its intensity.
Excellent writing from a talented lady

Sexual crucifixion is the most difficult from which one must resurrect themselves. But there is a resurrection because you arose to write this poem. Whether personal or a memory in honor of someone else whose innocence was torn--it was an act by a coward who wasn't man or woman enough to be classified as part of the human race. Weird, even Jesus died for the salvation of those monsters too. Let's all just keep being a support for each other, both in and out of "The Den."

blessin's 2 ya Rose--your thorns will be your helmet of victory.
