What I don’t know for certain
Ill-fated thinking has gotten me here
Or is it well planned, thoughtful thinking
I always think I have a plan
But time continues to arrest these feeble robust plans
Linking my fortitude with my fears
I know that I never know just what to do
Sans ever elusive success
The outcomes are what they are
And I know them, intimately
Sadly not very well
I have grand schemes flowing thru like Niagara
They’re juicy, fat, plump, and meaty
They entail being a Savior, Rainmaker, Innovator
Educator, Politico, Author, Journalist, Lover, Muse
Its solution oriented, focused, driven, firm and full
Yet my might gradually dusts off
And fear, delusional weary, panic, confusion
Footsteps enter my sparrow of vision
I have a vision
I have unnerving steps
I have nothing
Nothing sets the pace of my life
I despise knowing this but know I need to know this
I wrote this poem well over a year ago, and now I am more rooted and convicted on what to do professionally (being a writer) and do not second-guess myself as much. I finally feel that I have more answers than questions.
