Remembering those who crossed through and left a lasting memory in your mind
Every time I close my eyes the faces will appear
One or two will come to me, I have a little fear
Of what they want to show me and what they want to say
Sometimes they keep coming, until the break of day.
At first it was just shadows, there within my mind
But now I see them clearly, I'm the one they left behind
I could have gone with them, at almost any time
But I chose to stay right here, their memories in my mind
The truth is buried in my heart, to very few I have shown
I wish I could have changed, the tradegedies I've known
There is no easy way, to get through all the pain
The faces they stay with me and the memories remain
I tell others I have seen them, and they look at me with dismay
They question whether I am right and what they ought to say
The trials and tribulations of a past I hold on to
Is found in the faces, of the ones that I once knew.
