How to treat your horse in return for how he takes care of you.
When the world gets complicated, and you're looking for a place to hide,
Just head out on the desert and take a little ride.
The peace and quiet are what you're searching for,
Your horse will take you to the hills, with him you have rapport.
Just let him have his head and sit back behind the horn,
He'll take you to that special place where you can be reborn.
Just a slow walk, not a trot, or a canter does he take,
He knows you need the solitude so a sound he doesn't make.
He relies on you for food, and the touch of your stroking hand.
He returns it with the favor, of letting you survey this land.
From his back you can see everything, he goes toward the nearest peak.
He knows you'll let him show the way, it's peaceful that you seek.
So remember every night at dusk, when he takes you home,
To take a little time with him, and sometimes let him roam.
He'll always return to your corral, you've made it home for him.
Your horse can be your best friend when you let him lead again.
