Mistaken Prophets

These battered grounds have been traveled before
Deserts became swamps with jungles between
Epics, struggles for all humanity
So it is taught
Aberrant illusion, accepted peace,
Unidentified foreign object state
Coincident with man’s religious elusions
Secular needs drive devil’s must

Leave this lost place of righteous fire
Allow those who are consumed by it keep
Beliefs suborned by centuries

These lands are beaten into live fire zones
Killing sacks and suicide traps between
Broken crusts, promises, holy places
Call out to pray
Mistaken prophets exclaim zealotry
Excuses conduct not prohibited
Permits everything that is alluded
Listen close; it is time to realize that

Well written Kevin....I think I know the meaning of this!!

Never to trust another smiling at you...it could be the devil himself!!

Well, you completely lost me with this poem and especially the ending. I liked the way you said it, but damned if I know what you said.
