Cedar Wood and Sage . Grasping emptiness Half-awake nights in cold bed Restless, recalling Perfumed pillow memories… Peaceful sleep requires Hint of bergamot Mingled with coriander Whispering good night. . Merlot, stars, fireflies, Evenings locked in embrace Watching skidding clouds. Solemn, moonlit talks Discussing lives, questions, dreams… Fingertips to lips Caressed with lingering touch, Knew this time was right. . Entwined, complex dance As spring warmed late winter’s chill, Expectant wait for Singular beginnings. Comet’s spectral flame ‘cross sky Flared suddenly… Phantasmal sapphires Flickered bright with laughter’s light. . Summer’s kiss faded With pale autumn’s rising sun Over distant hills. Left remembering Forever, cedar wood and sage Love’s secret fragrance… Finally, eyes shut Sighing, wakefulness takes flight.
