Love You In Rhyme

You let me love you through my verse, blow kisses with my rhymes,
Fabricate fantasies, fashioned from fragile phrase,
With stroke of pen, transport you far away, to distant times;
Have you ever noticed, how much of me, I leave in you?

Pieces here, a larger part there, enough to let you touch
The essence of my being, hoping that you'll share
Small, sighing smile, or maybe feel my tears, though not too much.
I only make things as real for you, as you can dream them.
.
I draw from you the magic, that helps weave my voice's spell;
Constructing my incantations, then to conjure
Those tales of mysterious imagination I tell.
Without you, most difficult; I can't do this on my own.

Let me retire now to my table, so to thank you once again,
The way I'm most able, putting words to paper.
Though, one riddle for you to ponder, 'fore you leave me then:
