This was a hard poem to write. I'll warn about some of the language in it, but I won't apologize for it.
Ever Watch A Falling Star?

Ever watch a falling star
Explode
Freezing at night
Waiting
For violin’s music
To start?
Feel hot, hardened steel
Melting
Knowing you were the cause,
Hiding, hoping no one
Hunts you?
When did you last
Spend time
Smelling copper as
Life drained away
No matter
How f***ing much
You tried to make it stay?
Realizing that
Field dressings
Are bullshit?
Urging with whispered,
Plaintive screams,
Fighting sand and static,
For immediate dustoff,
Issuing futile orders,
Begging a friend to remain?
You say now that
I care too damn much
About the little things.
When was the last time
You lost someone
Who was your
Responsibility?

chilling and i'd say one of my favorite poems i've had the chance to come across
