Sunset Years
Sunsets can be dull affairs.
They happen and no one cares.
Blanketed by cloud, grey vapour,
The sky grows steadily lightless,
Till it is dark night indeed.
Now, in my sunset years,
Lone on the shore, to shed final tears,
I will that clouds not smudge the horizon,
The sun go down behind them,
I want my sunset to have light and colours,
Like cherry red, yellow, scarlet, silver, gold,
So if you saw it from your garden
Or from your window, you would say,
What a wonderful sunset,
The perfect end to a lovely day.
Later, the sky clear, nothing but stars,
Shining, beyond count.

and they "light and colours"...hauntingly draws
us into the setting of the "perfect end of a lovely
day"...all "shining"...
HAPPY EASTER PHILIP!
What a wonderful spectacle this would be....an amazing vividly coloured sunset...evidence of a life well lived, well loved...
And the sky clear, nothing but stars..beckoning your soul onwards and upwards to eternity...
Perfection...
Diana....
