“Don’t Cry Daddy, I’m Still right here”

Daddy, please don't mourn for me,

I'm still right here, though you don't see me physically.

I'm right by your side each night and day,

And within your heart I will forever stay.

My body may not be touching the ground

But I will be right here, I am always around

I’m a memory in everything you feel, or see or hear

My spirit is free, so don’t shed a tear

We’ll never be apart,

As long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never really be out of your sight.

I'm the brightest star on any given night.

Don’t ever think that I am beyond your reach.

Cause’ I'm the warm moist sand you see or walk upon at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves as the fall comes around,

And the pure white winter snow that will blanket the ground.

I'm your favorite smelling flowers, of which you have become so fond,

And I am the clear cool water that is in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see with each spring,

And I’m the first warm raindrop that each April will bring.

I am the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,

And you'll see that the face in the moon is really mine.

When you are sad and think that there is no one left to love you,

You can talk to me through the Lord up above you.

I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,

And you'll feel my presence in a soft warm breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears that flow as you weep,

And the beautiful dreams that will come when you sleep.

I'm the smile you see on Sienna’s face.

Just take a minute and think, then look for me, Daddy, I'm everyplace!

Just remember my daddy; you loved me so much

All the lessons a dog must learn

Have been taught by you with your gentlest touch

When the time finally comes, when your lessons are done

I will be waiting at the gates for you, daddy

And we will continue our journey that we had first begun.

Don’t worry about me daddy, for I am not in pain

I am up here in heaven playing my favorite doggy game

I do not hurt anymore, and I am young once again

You should be happy for me daddy

Cause’ the stench that’s so famous, is now just pretend

I am running and jumping and chasing things once more

I am not in the pain like I was before

My Angel dance is catching on with the dogs up here

And the seizures I have had, I no longer fear

All my suffering is in now the past

And before you know it daddy, we’ll be together again and having a blast

Please don’t let anyone forget about me

For you are the one who knows the most important things throughout me

We helped each other through think and through thin

And you being my daddy is by far my biggest win

Although this poem must come to an end

You will always be my daddy and most of all you are my bestest friend.
