Answers

Looking up on a starlit night,
A canvas glows ­brushed with points of light.
But it's just dust of stars we see
Transported through antiquity.
 
Need we ask how starlight comes?
Is it vital to know the path?
Or should we just enjoy the sun,
And just forget about the math?
 
From whence springs a smile or frown,
What is the color of the wind,
Describe the texture of the dawn,
Where does the rainbow end?
 
So what is essential truth,
Where are those answers found?
Or maybe more importantly—
What are the questions—more profound?
 
The well of thought is so very deep,
But can it reach a secret space
Where all the weighty answers keep?
It may just be there's no such place.

Begs the question
As through our wondering lives we go,
Searching for suggestion,
What are the answers we really need to know?
