MURDERS AND LOVERS

Read a book by the warm fire.

Moments can’t get any brighter.

Let the snow fall outside.

I will keep warm inside.

No need to fight the drifts.

I’ll stay with the misfits.

The ones who prefer books

that grab you with their hooks.

The fire is getting low.

The winds are about to blow.

I snuggled further beneath the covers

as I read about murders and lovers.

there is only one short step that lies between the two. Why they're so close to each other, I wonder. . . And the proper answer hides in our playful and frequently changeable selves. a nicely provoking piece. Cheers, alex

Although I experienced a lot of snowfall and warm fireplaces and snuggling under the blankets to get warm, I never read a book that way in my life.

Sounds very comforting though.

Reminded me of the years living in Chicago; wind, snow, lights flickering and snuggling. I enjoyed this very good write.

Cheers,

You got my attention when you wrote "The ones who prefer books
that grab you with their hooks."

Yep, gotta have that hook, otherwise the reader will put the book down and never pick it up again.

Nothing is better than to snuggle up with a good book on a cold winter night. Great pic and poem!
