I made a unique attempt to write a poem on 'MUSHROOM' due to its purity, whiteness an even its rareness. Nowadays pesticides and fertilizers limited its growth, and it persuades me to write such a poem.

Poem Artwork

HIDDEN TEARS

White, the symbol of purity
Adorns my short life, mushroom
A rare pretty scene of birth
along the shower of nature.

Rainy drops sweeten the little ones
Quiver the entire world with smile
But I foster the life of an ant
Like a lad’s white umbrella
shields him from rain.

I am a white flexible tree
elevate on our earth, with sorrow
my clusters runaway cause of
glazing tarred roads and Concrete forts
raise heads as my replica.

Growth reduce on this earth
Pest increase its spread
Oh god! In this polluted world
I feel a pain in my root, shrinks
With weeping heart withdraws my birth.

Hidden tears raise my voice
for new birth as mushroom.
Human, you pressed me down
I pray you for my innocent life back
A lusty green earth I needed.

Writing from the viewpoint of a mushroom and doing it so well is quite an accomplishment… Bravo! And, you give a strong message for conservation of the habitat for these lovely morsels, deadly or not.

Giving words to a mushroom and letting it speak gave this environmentally-induced poem a personal touch and presented to this reader a new perspective . . .
