No Conflict No Way

Another poem I enjoyed writing from "Pondering Existence", one of two books I've written.

No Conflict

No Way

No more numbers,

they provoke censorship.

Do away with wood,

its core sterile.

Obsessed with illogic

or so I'm led to believe.

No more thoughts,

they need reprogramming.

Friends see you in a new light.

The illumination blinds my eyes.

The intensity drew crowds

perplexed at the mother's offspring.

A box is my brain.

It has all the ingredients, but is contained.

Useful outlets that are not habit forming.

Complexities of my level seem too simple for thee.

The unruly attributes create illusionary truths.

The rain melts the pores of my flesh

until I am no more.

Now you can do what you want.

Policies that are inflicted upon ourselves

are hard pressed for agreement.

Drawing portraits of us,

the happier times being when

we did not understand each other.

The closer we get, the further we drift;

like the Sahara desert,

through the intervention of man

subsequently augments.

No incentives, no breakthroughs in this deadlock.

Sooner or later the magnets that attracted

are going to repel,

seeking to concentrate on errors and misconceptions.

Freudian slips are truths and remedies are useless.

Cramping your style reduced the tendency

to find fault with yourself.

Vacationing membranes want a response

from your messengers.

Tell them I need not reply.

The answer was obvious.

I see the backswing is rusty from years of inactivity.

The animalistic traits of ancient man

still lurk in your subconscious.

How silly of me to forget. But I forgot.

Nail me shut in a crate and mail it to heaven.

If it exists, you pay the postage.

Picking up the pieces of our lives,

symbolically you pick up the pieces first.

The music is too loud, it kills conversation.

Some ploy. What was your intention?

Ordinary books on your shelves are dusty.

Each one tells a tale; mystery, fiction, philosophy, theology.

Profound understanding?

Hmmm... there is a vast selection to choose from.

Your shelves are filled to capacity which enlightens me.

For now I have access to your knowledge, thoughts, fears...

perhaps all I need is time to decipher them.

I think it's time you seek shelter and to think passive thoughts.

Change is inevitable. The human condition has seen to that.

The memory of your tainted loves are gone.

The silver cup fades, then the gold arrives.

Communication is restored. But it's not the same.

I've lost track.

Now we have to count all over again.
