Football becomes the talk of the town
In every nook and corner, World Cup is known
Everyone expects the dawn of that day
With emotions engulfed, exhausting to say
One country hosts the entire series
Everyone honors it, tho' culture varies
For the ball, everyone run
Football floods to feed the fun!
Each one has his own goal
Every stroke aims to achieve a goal
Whole world cheers against every kick
Each effort enhances everyone's kick
Failure may frustrate
But the spirit to try again shall generate
Every action of a player is commented
Every moment of the game is documented
Sports is to unite and celebrate the life
No exception whether you are a scholar or housewife
Success knocks when you are clever and braver
Such tested teachings of football holds good forever
Global life revolves around the ball
Football fever fetters the flesh and soul to fall

You have written a rather flattering picture of football, or soccer as those of us in the United States know it. Under the cover, there is a seething nationalism that prevails and sometimes erupts into great violence at games. Here in the United States, we have that too, with our football that involved different rules.
I view football as an extension of the Greek games, morphed into the Circus, garnered to appease the slave population of Rome, and a substitute for war if that is possible, with injury replacing death.
This is a book of free verse poetry that addresses the seven main tests in life and offers some sensible solutions to passing those tests with minimal discomfort.
