We’ve grown together
In sandboxes, we’ve played
Struggled up heights
Swung and slid around together
Sunlight was our way
Our truth
Light
We giggled and frenzied
So many times
Many ways
For so many days
Nights
Time was…under our feet then
We twirled its hands
Pulled daylight long and thin
Comprised the night’s sky fiery as
Fireflies
A clambering to live
We were makes of light in heaven
Hearts shook to our rhythms and glow
Our senses higher
Goose bumps so mountainous
Quickly dissipated as they came
Water’s taste and cool
On our faces
Cooled our tongues
Our bodies
Faster
Face to face now
Wrinkles denote wear
Against our once boundless vigor
Mutually, we stand … asking silently
