September went from sweltering hot
To being swallowed by the wind.
Blazing sundowns, falling leaves...
Summer's temporary end.
October arrived in the sweep of gray skies
Scarlet, amber, and copper leaves tumbling...
Rolling and flying with ease
Across brown lawns to rest against fences and rails,
While orange pumpkins squat in frosty fields
And cold raindrops gather in pails.
November stepped in with a prayer of thanks
Of a well-being that never seems to end...
And concludes a cycle that began in September---
Called the autumn blend.
And because I love Autumn, I had to check out this one as well. I remember choosing pumpkins on field trips when I was in school. I think walking through the pumpkin patch was my favorite thing to do.
