I Miss The Forest

In tribute to a wonderful singer...John Denver.

So many times I've gone there... To the mountains near the sky... I would sit upon the gray rocks... And watch the eagles as they fly... I would listen to the sounds of the forest... No other sounds can compare... I think I am the happiest... When I have a chance to go there... It has been a long, long time... Since I've been able to go... The last time was 1990... Little did I know... The concert in the mountains... Would be the troubadour's last for me... He perished in a plane crash... In the California sea... I miss the forest and all that is there... I miss the troubadour, his earth-brown eyes and fair hair... I miss the songs that sing the praises of all there is to see... The forest is a song in itself... A place where I long to be.

The Rockies are something else. John Denver penned it well and sang like an angel. Well done.
