This poem was written for a friend who lost her only son. I wrote this poem because I could see her pain in her eyes even though she didn't speak of how broken her heart felt inside.

"A Tearful Good-bye To My Only Son"

Heaven called my son's name and,
He closed his eyes in death.
But in the distant shadows of darkness,
I know he saw me as I wept.

How do a mother say, "Good-bye," to her only,
Son? What words she use to say, for such a,
Tearful and sorrowful, "Good-bye?" In words,
Her heart spoke as she cried and prayed.

My heart now forever burden with grief, my son.
I know you can feel my heavy heart as it tries to speak.
On that day you left me, forever restrained within,
A broken-heart of grief.

Those were the only words to use as her broken heart,
Spoke while she wept.

you did it well!

Considering the sad nature of this poem you did an excellent job portraying the obvious grief through words...
