A deep reflective look at hope in life.

Hope in Things Seen

II came out into the night totally unaware
But then I felt the blush of soft moisture on my face;
As I looked into the night I saw before me a cloud,
A cloud that had come down and kissed the earth

The parking lot was concealed by wisps of white
But I ventured out, knowing somewhere my car was hidden;
I almost didn't see it there, lovingly nestled in the cloud,
The cloud had down to become part of the earth

Here and there the landscape was randomly obliterated,
It made everything look disconnected and out of place;
But as I drove home my fear subsided, calmness encircled me;
Was that cloud sent down to keep me safe ?

When I reached home I walked deep into that mist,
I nestled in the arms of the cloud, its kiss upon my face
Was this by the hand of God that this cloud came down ?
Was this just a cloud or had I looked into God's face ?

In the morning the cloud will have gone, will you have gone too ?
I long to hold you in my heart again, without a cloud between,
I long to tell you that I love you, believing that love is returned;
Or was this all an illusion, just a cloud that came down to earth ?
