So close, so far you are the brass ring i reach for over and over your cold shoulder rubs against my nature like an animal turned away i circle agitated, confused denied the majesty the revelry of being joined with another in life, in love in heat, indeed instead nothing will do without you
This has power like The Ring itself, Joseph!! It has that (very much pared-down and poetic!) Tolkien mysticism and yet earthy soulfulness to it somehow, too. Just love your discipline with the sparseness of this write, and yet you say so much and in so many different directions: the mark of good poetry! This seems a "viscious circle" indeed and I can really relate to the "back-turned"-thing... no worse feeling of being "shut out" than that! Can sense the agony and frustration here. Much applause! Dear readers, this is my third book of poems, and inside are a special collection of what have turned out to be not only MY personal favorites, but also the favorites of many of YOU. Some of these have never been available in print before...
