Still, I struggle
To find meaning
To find beauty
In it's embrace
It grips me
Like a lost lover
Pulling me close
Kissing my lips
Singing in whispers
Making memories echo
In shallow breaths
That linger on my neck
Until I wake
But you're still gone
So I look to the sky
At the stars smiling
Like embers from fires
Smoldering out
A yarn spun a millennia ago
Woven through time
Through space
Writing stories in the night
And I wish I could believe
In wishes
Like I wish I could believe
That your light lives there
In the darkness
In one of those stories
A thread unraveled far too soon
