I will never, never
Entertain conceit
To think my poems a feat
To be renowned.
God forbid such a naive presumption
To assume it worth consumption
By others than I.
And yet, perhaps,
If there be some who need
To bleed despair
Through redundance
In my words -
If there be those who
Dare to see but cannot say
The essay of their melancholy hearts
In my attempts to find my way
To map and mark
The track of exploration
To them may be bequeathed
Whether palliative or panacea
A diminutive relief.
