I believe just that...what you said in your first stanza... Maybe that is why they say that right before a person freezes to death they grow warm...
Thought provoking write, Kate.
I think most of us are afraid to really be exposed in all of our actions, thoughts, and feelings...that fear, that vulnerability...
full trust is what it would take.

I really ought to shut up now because I can't think of a single original thing to say. I'm out of practice but also there are not enough superlatives for me to describe my admiration when it comes to your work. You are a great poet but you also inspire such thought. This is wonderful!

This is so fresh, as only you can make a poem. You have the most remarkable way with words. The tunnel sounds wonderful each time I've read about near death experiences. Freezing to death would probably be quite painless, but I'm not going to give it a try.

Brilliant! I love it, Kate! Whom, indeed. I would, and I think you would, too... 'Death by Exposure' is exactly what Poets are about, plumbing depths, exhuming emotions, paying homage to humanity, and fading self until death welcomes us with its answers and heavens. Sometimes, we become the walking Dead. Painful but fulfilling...
