What a wonderful analogy of the poet's experience! The picture of Snoopy where he is overcome by frustration and you see the word, "Argggg!", is more my style when untangling words and facing confusion, tho! But then, I tend to throw things when I'm angry, too...

I too wondered if this were meant to be just a wonderful play on actual kites or as Regis suggests perhaps the kite is a symbol of someone able to control the life of another. Either way it is really a great way to write about the freedom of flight.

I used to show my son how to fly his Thomas the Tank kite, into the trees or the national grid...
