...Not quite back to icebergs, but we have our first bit of wintry weather here today... actual snow! :))

FROZEN RIVER

Downstream, upstream.
Comings and goings.
What was and what is yet,
caught in counterbalance,
animation suspended.

The ice is nothing
but an isolated moment;
yet it is the glass through which
what is upstream will be viewed
in the light of what was,
downstream.

Translucent imagery before my eyes. You capture time and hold it for a second to the light of poetry.

We are supposed to get a winter storm tonight and tomorrow but they have not decided which. Who knows when they depend on computer models.

The present is always viewed through the eyes of hind sight. Now will always been seen through the lenses of what has come before.

FROZEN RIVER flows with excellent metaphorical magic ! This is a true little jewel of a poem.

We got snow, we got snow, we got snow, all one half of an inch, I did sweep the whole road to make a snow ball.

Yup how the tide changes the rivers direction.
Where do the fishies go if it's frozen solid?
Maybe captian birds eye knows, huh, huh, huh...

Sigh, here I was all set to poke you in the ribs about "actual snow" as I sit in a world of white that lasts for months... BUT... then you went and bent my brain, teased my turnip, bathed my bean in clever, deep thought. Keep paddlin', Kute Kate... it's that 'stream' of consiousness that'll give you the REAL 'ups' and 'downs'... Marvelous work, me sweet!

Set the sails... we're headed for Timbuktu. Wheeeeeee... katy xox

Whimiscal yet thoughtful look at what was and what will be. Good write Kate. I love the comparison. We had snow today as well but after all the storms we had hoping this may be one of our last.

Shivery hugs,
Felix
