Your vision shines clear in this poem, Kate. When all is said and done, the important things in life are self, education and faith. These are things that can never be taken from us.

Is this not Truth? Yes, even the bible says that all we can expect
to keep when "things" are "washed away" is ourselves...if we escape by the grace of God.
I liked this poem a lot. You have good values, Kate, and they show up often in your poetry.

Sounds like baptism by nature, a washing away...maybe dramatic and violent, but through. Like a phoenix of the waters......hmmm very good poem, very interesting concept......and now I am inspired!

Oh Kate, this is so great, and amazingly well told, the last few lines were so meaningful, yes disaster certainly, in not for the rock of solid ground, at first I thought the last two lines were an indicatin that you did not experience the washing that wuld have taken place, ie yu wre saved, then I realized it wasnot that at all but that you were already saved before it all happened, just great, Al
