A re-write

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

He gathers all of summer's petals
to lay a path beneath her feet;
no thorn or stone will harm her.

She sweeps the full arc of heaven
with the beam of her bright eyes,
bringing cosmic lights together
to crown his wild, majestic mane;
he is dazzling to behold.

Who can fathom the depths of such a love
or conceive of such a union?
Softly swollen fleshly lips
with tearing jaw of ivory muzzle:
anathema to the heart and mind.

Yet their very souls are One;
breathing same air they are
Shared Root, Same Vine:
he the grapes of wrath,
she the grapes of wine.

Theirs is a vintage
beyond our comprehension:
sweet Elixir of Heaven
completely untasted
by those whose mirror-image
reflects back to them
only that which they already know
or want to understand;

whose Well of Life
flows from a single source,
purely of their own making.

Some beautiful moments in this poem, kate.

Beauty and the Beast was such a great Disney movie!
A tale as old as time
true as it can be....

Kate,

As if you had taken a photo and put it into words, capturing every minute grain of the picture in all its' brilliance ... stunning!!

Blessings,

when it comes down to it, beauty and the beast resides within us all ... it is the mirror reflection of our deepest desires and fears ... it flows within the wine of our own making and when it is shared and interchanged, the inevitable union of heart and mind becomes intoxicated with the beauty of its mutual caress ...
