"Don't whisper to me in twilight,
let not your breath just kiss my neck
in passing;
I want not your brooding presence
but Damascus rays to blind me,
to transfigure my mind
making eagle's vision mine:
radiant as Jerusalem's gleaming domes."
Blazing fire of your word
appears suddenly in my doorway,
consuming illusive shadows
by which you're otherwise known.
No way in or out but through,
gloriously drenched, baptised
in liquid streams of life.
Molten your luminous ink cascades
flooding my virgin page.
Not a sheet, not a leaf to separate or hide
as breath, words, ink and parchment
we unite.
Inspiration with illumination fused
becomes immortal holy light.
I have to agree with everyone else, I know it's a cop out but it's all been said, all I can do is just add more superlatives Kate...oustandingly superb.
Glorious! Masterful! Spectacular! Help me, here...I'm running out of praise--I concur with the board, one of your best (out of many). THank you, Poet and friend, for reaching out with this one--it is absolutely WONDERUFUL!!!!!!!!!

LOL at Anita. But that aside, outstanding write. I agree with all and Jude especially. I see your work getting tighter everytime I drop by. You're such an insightful soul, Kate, with a most uncommon gift. ~~Nordette
With this poem you are immortalized, (or is that paperized;-)
