Night Falls

NIGHT FALLS


Light turns tide, is swept
into chinks of dusk.
Sponged by night, day blots away.

Ink-stain sky descends,
nibbling world's fabric.
Winds exchange their shades of black,
shuffling decks of bright.

Now is nervous tension,
yesterday's tomorrow seeps into
floods of gathering shadow.

Like mists of black rain
dark hands close round me,
draw me into night's soft shell
with faint rustle of a kiss.

sounds like a jackson pollock sky or an impressionistic chinese watercolour, or an indian ink evening with kama sutra thrown in, too!
